Meals at Falkland

At Falkland, we recognise the importance of nutritious meals to support children’s learning, health, and well-being. Parents and carers may choose for their child to bring a packed lunch or enjoy a hot school meal. We encourage balanced, wholesome packed lunches to fuel your child’s day.

School Meals for Early Years and Key Stage One (Years 1 and 2)

School meals are currently free for Early Years and Key Stage One pupils, funded by the Government.

School Meals for Key Stage Two (Years 3-6)

For Key Stage Two pupils, meals cost £2.48 per day. Payments are made online through School Grid and must be completed before the meal is provided.

Ordering Meals

To help our kitchen team prepare the right number of meals, please order your child’s meal by 8:55am each day. You can also choose to pre-order meals in advance if you have sufficient credit on your account (for KS2 children).

If a meal was pre-ordered but is no longer needed, please cancel it online by 9:30 am to avoid any charges.

Falkland cares: Meals for every child

We understand that providing breakfast or a packed lunch can sometimes be challenging, and we want to reassure you that support is available. In partnership with West Berkshire Food Bank, Falkland Primary School is here to help any family in need, ensuring all children have access to nutritious meals to start their day. If you would like assistance or would like to discuss this confidentially, please reach out to us. We are here to support you and your family.

Thank you for helping us ensure all Falkland pupils have access to nourishing meals each day.
