We are Computer Scientists
We are learning. We are growing. We are Falkland.
Teaching Computing at Falkland ensures that all children are nurtured and guided towards reaching their full potential, enabling them to have the knowledge, skills and confidence to embrace and thrive in the rapidly developing world in which we live. We use elements of the Teach Computing scheme of work and resources (which works as a spiral curriculum), alongside aspects of ProjectEVOLVE and Barefoot Computing to ensure we offer a relevant, broad, vibrant and ambitious Computing curriculum that will inspire and excite our pupils through a wide variety of strands whilst ensuring we meet National Curriculum requirements.
Computing, at Falkland, fosters the computational thinking of the pupils which is a powerful way to solve problems. It requires a growth mind-set attitude and skills of evaluation, problem-solving and enquiry which underpin our Falkland Values of reflection, resilience, teamwork and resourcefulness.
Through Computing, we will also foster a curiosity and creativity amongst our children and developing this curiosity is vital to learning at a deeper level. It is hoped that they will grow up to become passionately curious and resilient problem solvers.
